Carbon Stock Mapping Utilizing Accumulated Volume of Sequestrated Carbon at Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh

The potential to sequester carbon by tree species in tropical regions such as Bangladesh is promising regard sequestration (CS) potentiality and reducing CO2 emissions. This study focuses on perennial within 488 hectares of Agricultural University (BAU) assess the CS produce a C stock map for BAU. To compute green dry weight, weight tree, simplified methodology from National Computational Science Institute Shodor Education Foundation was applied. A total 27,543 trees comprising 424 were taken into consideration, dividing whole area four segments. B. ceiba L. acidissima received maximum minimum green, dry, values. topmost five accumulating are M. longifolium (264,768 kg yr−1), S. mahagoni (257,290), A. lebbeck (118,310), indica (78,906), T. grandis (51,744) whilst major top found (181 kg), columnaris (139 siamea (116 F. elastica (113 religiosa (83 kg). reveal prospects emission reduction, could be incorporated with trading scheme CDM (clean development mechanism) Kyoto Protocol.
